Dear Customer,
If you have been trying to access the 56K number, but cannot make or keep a connection. You probably need a new or updated V.90 Driver. This driver controls your 56k modem, and may not be current enough to handle a V.90 connection. Visit http://www.56k.com for tons of useful information on identifying your modem and obtaining the latest driver for it. Note that due to the wide variety of modem, phone line and computer configurations, we make no guarantees as to the speed or reliability of 56K connections.
Note that the ability to connect at 56K-level speeds is influenced by many factors including; owning a V.90 compliant modem with a current V.90 driver installed, favorable phone line conditions, one Analog/Digital switches in the phone system between you and Connect and your computer settings. If any of these is not present, you may see speeds of 21,600 through 33,600. Additionally, the FCC limits modem speeds to 53K. If you are having trouble getting connected with your 56K modem, please see 56K.Com for information and tools on fixing the problem. We want to thank you for being such a valued
customer. We are pleased and proud to offer you this new service at no extra cost. If you have
questions or concerns about the switchover, please don't hesitate to let us know.
