All Connect Locations support modem speeds from 14.4 through 128K ISDN. If you are using a number that is not your local number, or is an outdated number not listed here, we strongly encourage you to switch to the proper number.

If you have been trying to access the 56K number, but cannot keep a connection. You probably need a new or updated V.90 Driver. This is the piece of controls your 56k modem, and may not be current enough to handle a stable V.90 connection. This is true even of computers being released in Late 1999. Cherryville	286-5400	Works well, however users in rural areas (more than 5 miles from a phone company switch) will have slightly lower connect speeds.
Gastonia	396-5400	Fast! Gastonia consistently gets users in the high 50's
Lenoir	426-5400	Lenoir's phone system has made vast improvement in the past few months. Recently, we've started seeing consistent speeds in the 43,000-49,333 range, depending on modem brand. Newer neighborhoods may experience even better results.
Morganton	343-5400	Morganton works very well depending on location. It's a beautiful old city, but unfortunately, old cities often have old phone lines, too. We see a lot of V.34 (26,400 through 33,600 speeds) here. If 56k speed is your primary concern, we recommend trying one month first before committing to the yearly plan.
Newton	344-5400	Newton serves a wide range of service areas, so the speeds here vary. Most people get high (above 41,000) 56K speeds. However slower connections are typically due to location. As the city expands into rural areas and upgrades older lines, the speeds will continue to get better.
Statesville	397-5400	Statesville is similar to Morganton except slow speeds are location-specific, and have been disappeared as of late. Statesville city has great 41,000-51,333 speeds, while users near Troutman have slightly lower speeds, depending on distance from the phone company.
Taylorsville	427-5400	Getting a local number to Taylorsville was a challenge, so we were surprised when we received reports of good, clean 56K! Just as all rural areas, your distance from the phone company makes a difference. Taylorsville regularly sees lower 56k speeds in the 26,400 to 42,000 range.
