Connect Setup for WebTV Go to dialing options on WebTV. You will see the following choices: Basic Call Waiting Use Your ISP Access Advanced Reset Basic – Basic settings allow you to enable a dialing prefix, and to choose tone or pulse dialing. Do not configure a dialing prefix, and only check the pulse checkbox if your phone uses pulse dialing (clicks instead of tones). Most do not. Call Waiting – The beep given by call waiting will disconnect an Internet connection. To disable call waiting, select Block Calls and enter *70 for the prefix. This prefix may vary, please contact your local telephone company to verify the call waiting block prefix. If you have any questions about the correct sequence, choose "no call waiting". Use Your ISP – The "Check this box" must be checked. Then, enter "Connect" for the service provider name. In the login name blank, enter your username (from the top of this sheet). In the password blank, enter your password (from the top of this sheet). For primary modem number, see below
Access – Do not enter any special codes here. Advanced – Select "wait for dialtone", and set the dialing speed to slow (Your WebTV will work best with this setting). Audible dialing may be enabled if you want to verify the modem handshake. Notes If you still have further questions after following the previous procedures, call Connect at your local number. E-mail questions may be directed to support@conninc.com. Your WebTV account is a special situation. WebTV lets you save on your monthly access fee by dialing into our local number, instead of through their numberss (it costs them more to keep phone numbers in your area). We then become transparent and let your WebTV communicate with WebTV.net across the Internet. Be Forewarned! WebTV is located in one location across the country. Due to the very nature of the Internet, routes to certain regions occasionally become congested or non-functional. As this is beyond our control, Connect cannot guarantee that WebTV service will be available. Every business day, Connect sends email invoices to each account coming due. (One of the cost savings that allow Connect to offer very affordable Internet access is not mailing postal invoices) If you do not check your Connect email, you will not receive these reminders and your account may expire. Your email account is automatically started when we process your application. Should you not know how to access it, simply contact Connect support and we'll be glad to help you get started.
Currently, Dialup accounts with Connect are the lowest priced accounts you'll find anywhere! In fact, our pricing makes us the fastest growing ISP in the Unifour! To pay on your account, Just call one of our friendly reps at your local number or mail your check to: Connect, Inc.
