Windows 98 Instructions Dial-Up Networking
- Double click My Computer on the desktop to open it.
- Double Click Control Panel (if you don’t see control panel, use the scroll bars to make sure it is visible and try selecting View - Arrange - Auto Arrange from the file menu).
- Double Click Add/Remove Programs.
- Click the Windows Setup tab. This presents a series of software categories such as accessories, Microsoft Network, etc. You can highlight any category and examine the specific programs within it by clicking the details button.
- Highlight Communications and select the details button.
- Make sure there is a checkmark beside Dial-Up Networking. If there is not, click inside the box to select it for installation.
- After this is done, choose OK twice to return to Control Panel, then close the Control Panel.
Network Settings
- Double-Click the My Computer icon on your desktop.
- Double-Click the Control Panel folder.
- Double-Click the Network Icon.
- Under The following network components are installed, double-Click TCP/IP.
- Click DNS Configuration.
- Choose Disable DNS.
- Click OK. Click OK again. If a window appears telling you to restart your computer, click Yes.
Connecting to Connect.
- Click Start.
- Click Programs.
- Click Internet Explorer.
- Click Connection Wizard.
- Choose " Ihave an existing Internet account through my phone line or local area network (LAN). Help me set up my computer to connect to this account"
- Select this option if you are accessing the Internet using an Internet Service Provider or local area network (LAN).
- Choose connect using my phone line.
- If you see "Select Modem" , select next.
- Select create a new dial-up account.
- Enter the Phone number with area code:
- Enter your username and password in lower case letters
- "Do you want to change advanced settings?" Choose No
- For dialup connection name type "Connect".
- Do you want to set up Internet Mail account now, Choose No.
E-Mail

Follow these simple instructions to access your mail account:
- Open your browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator) and connect to the Internet.
- Highlight and delete the address currently shown in the browser's "address" window.
- Carefully type the following into the "address" window:
http://mail.conninc.com
- Hit the "enter" key on your keyboard and the Emurl page will appear.
- Enter the first part of your email address into the login name blank (everything before the @ sign), and enter your email password into the password blank.
- Click "enter" on the screen
- You will then see buttons to "Check Mail" and "Compose"
TIP! Save the email address in your favorites list or make it your start page.
